Born on the 4th of July

Makes you want to sing…

Our friends and neighbours, Nicole and Blair Peacock were blessed with their second child – Oliver – who was, actually, born of the 4th of July.  I know we’re Canadian, but it’s kind of a big deal I think.  I’m pretty sure the Peacock house thinks it’s a big deal too!

The Reid household was pleased to host Nicole, Ella, and Oliver for a little visit and dress up time just a couple of days after his birth.  Robynn is so thrilled with this new little addition to the neighbourhood.

Of course, the girls had to get dressed up in our wonderful finds from the NorthRidge swap meet.  That was the only downside to Oliver’s birth being on the 4th – the Peacocks missed the swap meet!  Hmm, maybe next year :)

Gallagher Lake

In the heat of July, we got to cool down in the refreshing waters of Gallagher Lake.

Our family went camping with our “church family” at the Gallagher Lake Campground Resort.  What a nice place – I would really recommend this site to any family!

This was our first excursion of the summer, and Natasha just didn’t want to nap!  These are pictures of when she passed out from sheer exhaustion!

A little air time outside our tent – it was too hot for clothes!

What a wonderful time!  18 adults and 18 kids in 8 campsites.  I can’t wait until next year’s trip.

Strawberry Fields Forever

Well, we were there on the last day of the U-pick strawberry season, so I guess it doesn’t go on forever.  But our girls sure did have fun.  It was a day for Mum’s and their first born daughters (okay, or their only daughters…) .  Auntie Vivian and Tricia; Tricia and Grace; Rachel and Abby; and Darcey and Robynn!

Funny that there aren’t really any pictures of the Mums???

I'm back

Okay, it's been a long time, and I do have a lot of pictures to post - but for now, I'll just share a funny:

Kumbai-ya has many verses, and Robynn sometimes likes to make up new verses. Well on our way home from church yesterday, Natasha was falling asleep in the car. So Robynn helped her along on the road to la-la land by singing her Kumbai-ya with this new line added...

"Someone's adorable, my Lord. Kumbai-ya
Someone's adorable, my Lord, Kumbai-ya
Someone's adorable, my Lord, Kumbai-ya
Oh Lord, Kumbai-ya"

Russ and I had to smile...
Natasha fell asleep.
